This winery is among the best of its kind, offering a wide selection for every budget, all of top quality. The winery has now been granted the title of Historic Brand. The government created this designation to recognize companies with “historical brands of national interest.” Fifty years of uninterrupted company membership are prerequisites. This protects products originating from Italy and promotes qualities such as innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. A truly special kind of “Made in Italy.” The winery was founded in 1870 by Count Emanuele, the son of the founder, who gradually began marketing the wines. Beyond this, the Count was also valued for his social commitment – ​​he commissioned the construction of schools and workers’ housing.

At Fontanafredda, the focus is not usually on the vineyard locations, but rather on the elaborate winemaking process and the resulting quality.
